April 23-26, 2012, Santa Cruz (Chile): XI International Protea Research Symposium. The International Protea Association (IPA), the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Universidad de Talca, have the pleasure to invite you to take part in the XV International Protea Association Conference and XI International Protea Research Symposium entitled "Proteas: Opportunities and new production regions", that will be held in Chile, from 23 to 26 April, 2012. REMINDER CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - Deadline 15th December 2011 The goal of the Conference and Symposium is to highlight the most recent and exiting developments in growing and researching Proteaceous species around the globe, with an emphasis on quality management and production, propagation, ecology, pre and post-harvest physiology, storage and transport technologies, pest and disease management, flowering manipulation and all quality aspects throughout the supply chain, marketing and distribution systems. Abstracts relating to flora commonly grown with Proteaceae will be considered. The program of the Conference will consist of invited speakers, oral presentations and posters. All the participants interested in either an oral or a poster presentation are invited to submit an abstract on the following subjects: General situation of the industry, genetics and breeding, biotechnology, physiology, propagation, production, crop protection, postharvest and quality.
